  i was reading "run dont walks" topic on "when the governing body dies off then what happens?

  " great post.. what we need to do, since there are alot of just "faded" members of the j.w.

  organization here with us is this... next year, all you just faded ones, (the ones not disfellowshipped or disassociated) go to the memorial and "drink the wine and eat the unleavened bread"... .. brilliant isnt it.

  I think the easiest and most cost effect way is to write letters to local community newspaper editors. They're often looking for a good story (they can only write about so many car accidents) and will gladly take all our documentation and run with it. Most community newspapers are free and are distributed by the thousands. As a matter of fact, Brooklyn alone was a couple of dozen local papers.

  We should all post the addresses of these newspapers so we can send them something via email. Who wants to go first?

  when j. f. rutherford was president of the wts, he spoke at bible conventions and on recordings with great authority.

  rutherford frequently denounced governments and churches as an abomination of desolation.

  rutherford would have his followers believe that he had a direct link with god and it was he who authorized him to speak with such authority on his behalf.

  Speaking about dancing, have you ever read the Watchtower article where it says that dancing 'The Twist' is immoral? It was an old article written in the 50s when Chubby Checker was a huge hit. It's strange because I've never seen a witness dance the twist, yet I've seen every other one dance the MACARENA, SALSA, MERENGUE, DANCE HALL REGGAE with no shame whatsoever. Mind you, Latin dance music is steeped in pagan religous tradition.

  It never stopped me though, when I saw a hot sis waiting to get her salsa on, I was sure to drop my plate and start shakin my bon bon!

  How many countries are JWs banned in?

  looking at some older branch letters in the kms i noticed this one from april 1977, which makes the claim that it is to be expected that opposition will increase.

  in 1977 the number of countries that banned jws stood at 40. according to the latest yearbook, 28 'other lands' (which used to mean lands where reporting was restricted) were at the end of the report.

  does this mean that things are, the deeper we get into the 'time of the end', actually getting better?.

  Banning the JWs will only make them feel more like martyrs. Taxing them is the best solution. It's only fair considering that they don't pay their workers much of a salary. If their income cannot be properly accounted for then their nonprofit status should be taken away. Unfortunately, most third world countries have little or no regulations for this. So it's no surprise that the society has incredible real estate holdings throughout the world.

  You would think that with all their earnings they would give at least a small portion back to the communities they reside in (schools, hospitals etc.). But of course, they leave that up to the new system. Until then, they'll continue pitching magazines at people who are half starved or living in abominable conditions while they ride their bicycles back to 'God's Country Club' in the hills overlooking the beach.

  i remember at a district convention in yankee stadium back in the 80's where the district overseer mentioned the possibility of one day being able to share the universe "with other creations of jehovah" as he put it.

  it definitely got everyone's attention because he even went so far as to say that perhaps ufos are a creation of jehovah, but we haven't been told of their purpose.

  when i heard that i nearly choked on my jw-hoagie.

  With all due respect, but it seemed pretty obvious that pleasuredome was offering this article as a suggestion. Had he thought differently he would have said so. But whatever his intention was, I'll let him speak for himself and I'll leave it at that. We're all adults so I'm sure we can speak for our own comments right?

  To address your comment Joanna tell me, would your prefer placing a microchip on an immigrant mother and her child, or would you prefer to put a couple of rounds in their heads? I was offering this as an alternative to shooting them. Furthermore, I did offer more than one alternative, a microchip AND a smart card. What's so scary about a smart card? You carry a driver's license or a credit card don't you? A smart card is nothing more than an i.d. card with enhanced electronic capability to prevent falsification as was was done by the 9/11 terrorists. The card will be carried in your wallet, not in your forehead so where do you see a problem?

  Your idea is severely lacking in humanity, creativity and CLASS. You make it sound really easy to shoot at a woman or a child. Do you think that a true warrior would do such a thing for his country? Do you think you're tough enough to even pick up the bodies? I must say, pink suits you very well.

  Given that this is a forum after all, I should realize that he's only saying this because he's hiding behind a PC. So I'll leave him alone.

  I believe, that a MORE HUMANE SOLUTION would be to track immigrants biometrically. A chip can be inserted in their finger which can be tracked by a global positioning system. It's already being tested in some U.S. prisons with great success. It's already available here to track lost pets and it works very well.

  Legal citizens can be given 'smart cards' which they must carry at all times. These smart cards are nearly impossible to falsify given the technology that they're based on. Once all citizens and immigrants have been identified, we can implement technology which will help us protect the borders (drone aircraft, heat sensing/ultraviolet rader systems etc).

  It's an advanced approach requiring a large financial investment, but mark my words - it will happen.

  Class Distinction Within The JW Community?

  has anyone noticed that jws who appear to be higher up on the 'socio-economic' ladder get special treatment at the kh?

  no matter how many khs i've visited, i've noticed that jws who are not well off socially/financially/physically are treated with less respect/dignity than those with a business of their own, or just a higher quality of life.

  i've been to many 'gatherings' where jws filter themselves out according to race or socio-economic standing.

  In this aspect I feel that other religions are better than JWs in that they don't believe in titles or positions of rank. For example, the Sikh religion doesn't believe in elders or servants or microphone handlers, yet they have over 20 million members worldwide and appear to behave more Christian than JWs. For example, imagine a homeless person walking into a KH. He would probably be escorted into a less consipicuous area of the hall, or he would get walked out. Whereas in a Sikh temple he would get fed and taught in their ways. More importantly, since they don't believe in a priest-class, there are no collisions of egos in their community.

  Though the WTS is beyond repair at this point, it would be nice to find a Christian religion that didn't have a class system. It would be nice to go somewhere and just read the Bible for what it is, a book, with other people but without all the interpretations and dogmatic practices. Is such a thing possible or am I asking too much?

Aunque senti orgullo, tambien senti tristeza al saber que quizas, no habra alguien que puede alcanzar la clase de fama que Celia tuvo.
